What the split tool does

The split tool pulls the pages you want out of a long file into a new PDF, or breaks every page into its own file. Type a range such as 1-3,5 to get pages one to three and page five in one file, or switch on split every page to download a ZIP with one PDF per page. Pages are copied as they are, with no recompression and no change in quality.

Splitting runs inside your browser, so a payslip or a contract is never uploaded and never leaves your device.

When you need to split a PDF

A portal asks for one specific page of a long document: the balance page of a bank statement for a financing request, the first page of a lease for an Ejar or Absher service, or a single month's payslip out of a file that holds the whole year before uploading it to Qiwa or a bank. A student splits a textbook into chapters to read one on a phone without loading the whole book, and an accountant pulls one invoice out of the monthly invoice file to send to a client.

How to split a PDF, step by step

Limits to know about

One range produces one file. To cut a file into several parts with different ranges, such as 1-10 and then 11-20, run the tool once per part.
There is no option to split by size or every fixed number of pages. The two modes are a chosen range or every page on its own.
A password-protected file cannot be split directly. Unlock it first with the unlock tool.
Range numbers follow the position of the page in the file, not the number printed on it. The cover is page 1.
One run handles up to three files with the same range, a technical limit rather than a commercial one, and the results download as a ZIP.

I extracted the wrong page

The number in the range is the page's position in the file, so if the file has a cover and a contents page, the page printed 5 may be the seventh. Open the file, count from the start and run again.

I want each chapter of a book in its own file

Type the first chapter's range such as 1-25 and run, then the second chapter's range 26-48 and run, and so on. Each run takes seconds.

A ZIP downloaded and I do not know how to open it on my phone

The Files app on iPhone and Android opens a ZIP with one tap and shows the page files inside. If you would rather have a single file, type a range instead of using split every page.

The extracted pages are still large
