Convert Excel to PDF
Drop an .xlsx and every table is drawn by your own browser's font engine, the one that knows how Arabic letters join and where a number sits in a cell. Each sheet starts a page, the page turns sideways and the type shrinks until the columns fit whole, and no cell is ever clipped.

Frequently asked questions
Can I still select and search the text?
Yes. Each page is drawn by your browser's font engine, then the same words are written over it in an invisible layer, so Ctrl+F finds your figures and a copy gives you real text.
My sheet is wide. Will the columns be cut off?
No. The page is turned sideways first, then the type and the column widths shrink together until they fit. If the table is still wider than the paper, the columns are split across following pages, with the header row repeated above each one and its column letters written in the caption.
What happens to a cell whose text is longer than its column?
The text wraps inside the cell and the row grows. Nothing is cut. Excel itself hides the overflow, but a file that drops the last digit of an amount is no use to anyone.
Do formulas carry over?
Their results do, exactly as the sheet was showing them, because that is what you were reading. The formula itself does not appear in a PDF, which is true of any printout.
What does not carry over?
Cell fills and font colours, the borders as you drew them, charts, images, pivot tables, conditional formatting and comments. A single hairline grid is drawn in place of your borders. Numbers, dates, percentages, thousands separators, an invoice's currency text, bold, alignment and merged cells all do carry.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened and converted on your own device and never leaves the browser at any step. Close the page and it is all gone with it.
Does it take the older .xls format?
No, only .xlsx, which is Excel's format since 2007. Open an .xls in Excel, save it again as .xlsx, and try once more.
