Add a confidential watermark to internal documents

A report that leaves a department with no marking becomes, a week later, a file nobody can place: where it came from, or whether it is the final version. Write Confidential, Draft, or your company name across every page before you send it. The document stays on your device while you do.

What to put on the mark

Keep the text short and specific. Confidential for documents that should not leave the organization, Draft for anything not yet approved so it does not circulate as final, and Internal copy for reports moving between departments. Adding the company or department name helps more than you would expect, because months later it answers the question of who issued the file. Some teams add the date as well, to tell one meeting's copy from another.

A watermark states status, it does not prevent copying

This is worth saying plainly. A watermark announces the document's status to whoever opens it and makes redistribution awkward, but it stops nobody from copying the text or taking a screenshot. If what you need is control over who can open the file at all, that is the job of a password, which lives in the Protect PDF tool, and the two combine well: a mark that declares it confidential, and a password that keeps it shut to anyone without it.

Why Arabic comes out connected here

Many foreign tools print the word سري as disconnected or reversed letters, because they do not shape Arabic or handle its writing direction. Here the mark is drawn with the browser's own text engine, the same engine that renders Arabic on your screen, so the word comes out connected and readable exactly as you see it before you press the button. Tune the opacity so the mark reads clearly without hiding the report text underneath it.

Three steps, that's it

  1. Drop the report into the tray and type Confidential or your own text

  2. Set opacity, size, and tilt so the text underneath stays readable

  3. Press add watermark and download the stamped copy

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a company logo image?

No. The watermark is text only today, in Arabic or English. Type the company or department name instead of using a logo.

Does it mark every page?

Yes, it applies to all pages of the file. If you need only certain pages, split the file first with the split tool, then stamp the part you want.

Can the recipient remove it?

It becomes part of the page content and is not easily removed, though any capable PDF editor can modify any file. Always keep your original unmarked copy.
